Web browser maker Opera Software AS is set to launch its web browser for desktop computers with a built-in mobile crypto wallet access after the positive response received to the recently launched crypto wallet in 0pera for Android.

“Opening up the PC browser to crypto marks 0pera’s second step towards making cryptocurrencies and Web 3.0 mainstream,” said Charles Hamel, Product Lead of 0pera Crypto.

Opera became the first major browser to carry a built-in crypto wallet, which spared Internet users the trouble of installing separate Dapp browsers or crypto wallet extensions. The private beta version of the 0pera browser for Android was made available in early July.

“By adding a crypto wallet directly into the browser, we removed the need for complex extensions or separate apps,” Hamel added.

Opera PC browser users will gain access to the crypto wallet present in their mobile 0pera for Android browser by simply scanning a QR code on their PC browser. This will grant them access to their mobile wallet with cryptocurrencies and collectibles.

The Crypto wallet in opera for Android is a user-controlled wallet, which means that the keys controlling the funds and assets are stored on the user’s phone only.
